Tomasz Kusz

Hi, my name is Tomasz and I have been a trumpet and piano player since I was 7 years old (2010). I'm a big fan of all kinds of music, but mostly jazz and classical. I used to teach a few students in Poland and we both really enjoyed it (I hope ;)). I am currently studying my second year at Syddansk Musikkonservatorium in Odense.

 Over the past years I have played a lot as a soloist and in many ensembles, but mainly with my quintet.  I have composed, arranged and produced many pieces. My orchestral arrangements have been played at large charity concerts. Two years ago, my composition won second prize in the 'Art generator' competition. In September 2021, I won second prize at a jazz competition in Konin and was then invited to compose and play at a major festival in Poznan. In June 2022 my quintet won 1st prize at JAZZKRACAMERA2022, and in the same month we took part in the biggest Junior Jazz competition in Poland, where I won 1st prize as an instrumentalist and we won 2nd prize as a band. Recently, together with the band, I got to the final of the most prestigious jazz competition in Poland called "Jazz nad odrą", and we also played at one of the biggest jazz festivals in Poland called Enter Enea. In the summer, I received a scholarship for a five-week intensive music workshop at Berklee College of Music in Boston.Since I started studying in Denmark, I finished composing my first album, which will be released in a few days. But really the most important thing is to play music that makes you happy and have fun doing it <3.
